If you are looking for an attraction with a difference then look no further than the Royal Observatory building which can be found over on Blackheath Avenue which is in the Greenwich part of London.

There is no charge for anyone wishing to visit the attraction for the day.

Key in SE10 8XJ as the observatory’s post code or zip code on your car hire GPS system which you can collect from any major airport within the UK.

Please note there is limited parking available at the observatory and charges will apply.

If you wish to walk a short distance then you will be able to catch the DLR to the nearest stop which is the Cutty Sark.

The nearest train station would be Greenwich at a fifteen minute walk or Maze Hill which is a ten minute walk.

If you wish to visit the attraction then the building is opened each day from ten until five in the evening.

There are a number of cafes located inside the observatory selling various hot meals and snacks. As the attraction becomes a little busy between lunch hours then why not try and arrive a little earlier. Say when the building opens at ten. You will be able to visit other visitor attractions located close to the observatory.

If you wish to visit the planetarium and take in a show. There are various shows through out the day. Visitors can watch the star life, secrets of the sun, space safari and much more. Please note there is a small fee for entrance into the planetarium.

You can collect a map of the planetarium and observatory from the information desk located inside the museum. This will help you plan your visit and make the most of your time.

There are a variety of exhibits on display inside the building. Visitors can catch a glance of the jacket with the bullet hole still visible on the jacket that Nelson wore before he was killed.

Other exhibits include galleries which include maritime items.

The Royal Observatory is one of the top London attractions that John Joe has written about on behalf of Car Hire UK at http://www.bluewheels.com. They can offer car rental at London Gatwick Airport and other world wide airport locations.

Hello, I would like to ask you if you already know the St Kilda rentals area. And you might ask exactly why I’m interested. Well, I happened to be browsing the internet and I was drawn in by what I have read. In the Top 10 Popular Aussie Suburbs per State list, the St Kilda area ranks at an amazing second place within the state of Victoria, Australia, in terms of the rent sector. In the similar line, it ranks fourth in the “where to buy” classification. And undoubtedly the top ranker for rent and market is Melbourne.

Nevertheless, i want to simply just focus on the unknown or to put it in the right context on the less popular. Considering that Melbourne City is already a well known area to visit there will truly always be lots of tourists within the area. And will also be saturated with many people.

And because I am more about the lighter side, let’s try and look at the St Kilda rentals area. St Kilda has a great deal to offer for the day trippers and for night riders.

For a well planned daytrip, you can try and begin your day with a beachside breakfast along the stretch of the famous St Kilda Pier. In the pier you can view the well-known seashore utilized in tv series settings along with the remarkable sights of the Melbourne skyline. If you’re in Melbourne, you’ll not be able to see it.

For anyone who is in the St Kilda Rentals area, you are immediately in a popular shopping haunt. An area that one could go to to get a one-of-a-kind bargain is the suburbs of Acland Street. It’s lined with pretty much as many exclusive boutiques to peruse as bakeries. While the St Kilda Esplanade Market provides you with originally hand-made items. Unfortunately, ensure that you go to the place on a Sunday between 9am to 6pm. Handcrafted jewellery by local designers is found lined alongside typical Australian souvenirs in a myriad of stalls.

After the market, let’s try and carry out some activities to produce some sweat. If you go walking towards the Kilda Foreshore it’s also advisable to prepare yourself to rent a set of inline-skates or maybe try a set of rollerblades at Rock ‘n’ Roll Skate Hire. The term rentals don’t just apply to rooms and apartments. Wear your wheels after which move smoothly along the Esplanade. The spot is also an attraction to fitness freaks namely; joggers, walkers and also cyclists, especially on weekends.

Let’s now feed your history thirst. The “Luna Park” is a historic fairground and is also a must-see for virtually any person, irrespective of age. You will surely smile when you see the iconic laughing face at the entrance. The best thing is that the free admission.

When the sun sets and the moon appears, this only means that it is dinner time. In reality, you can dine in your accommodation apartments or hotels. But if you’re looking for a change go to St Kilda’s cheerful, consumption-centered suburb. Here you can try the ‘Cafe di Stasio’. It’s a spot which brings together fancy jazz, with well-groomed waiters plus a lot of the tastiest Italian food in the city.

After dinner, St Kilda has endless options for drinking. One of these is “The Vineyard” on Acland Street. It’s a great place for a few drinks. And after all of these activities there are a lot of St Kilda rentals for you to have a comfortable rest in.

Continuing with Hong Kong (Lantau island Lo Hon Monastery)

Lo Hon Monastery

Situated on the hillside of Sunset peak within the district on Tung Chung, surrounded by lush green vegetation and behind by mountains. Changyuan was a monk who came from the western province of Guangdong to Hong Kong in the 1926. He came across a cave and settled in, it was known as “Lo Hon Grotto”, (Arhat’s cave). Then in the1960s came lay practitioners and they became enchanted by the surrounding countryside that they then made it there home, the place was good for teaching and studying the Daoism.

With the permission of monk Changyuan the name of the grotto was change to the name that is used today of ” Lo Hon Monastery”.

The monastery was finished in 1974 and it housed some great halls with the main hall being “The Great Hall” which is12 meters high laid out in such a way it gives a sense of space. Outside to guard the monastery are two stone lions sitting, watching, waiting for any unwanted intruders. Inside the hall is a splendor of buddhists statues that include the likes, of Sakyamuni, Maitreya and Bhaisajyaguru and the Weituo Bodhisattva. The last statue is of the Guardian Bodhisattva holding his Green Dragon Sword and with striking facial features, his eyes staring out.

There are three more halls the fist is “Guanyin hall “. Guanyin Bodhisattva sits holding a willow branch and a vase that contains water purified, she gazes on with compassion.

The next hall is “Ksitigarbha hall, inside sits Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha upon his head is the five-buddha crown in his hands he holds pearls that will mean to light his way to heavenThe last hall is “Memorial hall” this is a place of shrines, the remains of the lost ones well lit with sense of calm and grace. There are gardens that are laid out to catch your eye, at the end of the garden theres a large pond with a statue, once again watching, waiting, keeping a eye over the beautiful gardens. There is of course the Lo Hon cave it is said that once inside all time disappears with the cool air in summer and warm air in winter. The only way to feel its enhancement is to go and visit the cave, pictures cannot describe feelings.

There is also a well catered restaurant that serves vegetarian dishes, these are set menus and cost $60 hkd Transportation From Tung Chung buses 11, 3m 21, 3m From Mui Wo buses 3m (disembark at Shek Mun Kap.) My next article is on Po Lam Monastery.

Once virtually unknown in the USA, sushi is now a common food associated with the Japanese. So what is Sushi? Basically, sushi is cooked rice that has been treated with vinegar. The rice is can then be topped with other ingredients, most commonly seafood. It can also be rolled into a cylinder. Sushi is very different from raw sliced fish, which is called sashimi. The traditional form of sushi is fermented fish and rice, preserved in salt. Sushi literally means “it’s sour”, not raw, a misconception of the Western world.

All sushi has a base of specially prepared rice, topped with other ingredients. The sushi rice is special white rice. It is a short grained variety. After cooking, it is mixed with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Sometimes sake is added. The rice has to be seasoned at room temperature or it will be too sticky to handle. Traditionally, it is mixed in a hangiri, a round wooden tub, with a shamoji, a wooden paddle. The consistency of the rice is different from the long-grain rice of India and Vietnam. What makes the Japanese rice so desirable for sushi is its stickiness. While different regions of Japan use different types of vinegar and seasonings for the rice, the rice variety remains consistent throughout Japan.

Traditional Japanese sushi is topped with raw fish. Uncooked fish of course must be fresher and of higher quality than fish that is cooked. That is why professional sushi chefs are trained to recognize high quality fish. They have to be able to judge a fish’s characteristics, which include smell, color, and firmness. Commonly used fish are tuna, snapper, yellowtail, mackerel and salmon. Nori, the black seaweed wrapper used to make sushi rolls, is a type of algae. Pressed, dried and flavored with teriyaki and salt, the Nori sheet is often eaten alone as a snack. Nori used in sushi making is not flavored with teriyaki.

Condiments used to compliment the sushi include soy sauce, pickled ginger and wasabi. True wasabi has anti-microbial properties which reduce the risk of food poisoning. A commonly used substitute is horseradish and mustard powder mixed with a green dye. This is most often known as “Japanese Horseradish.”

In traditional Japanese sushi bars, green tea is always served with sushi. Another common drink served with sushi is sake. Sake, a wine made from rice, is normally served hot.

Want to impress your friends or family? Host an easy to prepare, traditional Japanese meal. Prepare a low table with some cushions or mats surrounding it. Place a simple vase with a flower or two on the table. Purchase or download some traditional Japanese ongaku (music), such as shomyo or gagaku, to play in the background. Buy kimonos for everyone or just one for yourself if you are serving. Purchase some sushi to go at your favorite restaurant or food store (make sure you use it right away). Heat some sake, make some green tea, light the candles, turn down the lights, and you are ready to go. A wonderful evening in Japan for your guests!

From small communities to big cities everywhere nightclub owners remain fiercely competitive for the billing of top dog in the local scene when it comes to bars, nightclubs, pubs, and more. Judging by the nightlife, how does the health of your city look? Competition is not only fierce between cities to draw the traffic of various nightclubs but among the various types of nightclubs as well.

When it comes to LA, nightclubs are in major supply though this is pretty much the case for nightclubs in California and beyond; knowing a little about the crowd a club caters to can help you have a much more pleasant experience. In addition to the various dance centered night clubs in California there is an amazing assortment of clubs devoted to other forms of adult entertainment such as comedy clubs for great laughs and good times. With this in mind you should always pay close attention and understand what you are getting into before you go into any Orange County night clubs.

You should also avoid entering any Hollywood nightclubs without knowing the type of people and entertainment that goes on inside. Are you ready for the race to the top for your upscale New York nightclubs and your Downtown Detroit Nightclubs? Give your citizens a night on the town once a month or once a week and you will be amazed at the incentive this little luxury provides when it comes to getting other jobs accomplished. Guarantee the success of your race to the top by taking all the necessary steps to get your nightclub’s name known and recognized. If true success in the business of nightclubs is your goal then your must get yours listed on the definitive list of nightclubs.

Keep in mind that the U.S. is a big country and nightclubs across the country are best known for different reasons: Miami nightclubs are known for being spicy, Hollywood nightclubs are well seasoned, and New York nightclubs are definitely cool. Do not for one second think that ownership of nightclubs doesn’t have the potential to be profitable-the money is there or the competition wouldn’t be nearly as fierce, which is why you must make your nightclub’s name stand out.

Pay attention to the differences between Chicago nightclubs and San Francisco nightclubs or Las Vegas nightclubs, those differences are often the differences between success and failure in a new venue. All who own nightclubs should pay close and careful attention to the competition in order to imitate what is working and eliminate those things that are not working for the competition. Getting your name out there and well known is, hands down, the best way to make your business a success-just try it and see what a difference it makes in your business. Having your name recognized in nightclubs around the world is by far the best way to guarantee the success of your Los Angeles nightclubs whether they are recognized in Philadelphia nightclubs or DC nightclubs or even those in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This is one thing that popular gay nightclubs have been very successful doing much to their profits-by relying on lists and word of mouth advertising rather than print ads that could have led to trouble in decades past.

Don’t rely on local business, if you have Las Vegas, Miami, or Dallas nightclubs you need to make sure that visitors from across the country know the name of your club. To make your nightclubs the successful business enterprises you want them to be your club needs to be on the list at RateClubs.com see what a difference the list can make in your business.

With riots in Thailand and acts of war in Korea, a tour of Asia seems less than advisable at the moment. Fortunately for you, the Far East is still well within reach and all without ever leaving the island of Manhattan. Last weekend, I set out on a journey around Asia with nothing more than my MTA metro card and an empty stomach. Below, I’ve recounted the tour, which begins deep in Southeast Asia, makes its way up into Thailand, Vietnam, on to China, and finally ends in Japan. First up, Friday night out in Malaysia.

What more can you ask from a Friday night out than a few PBR’s and a couple of crabs? It’s not what you think – I’m talking about the menu at Fatty Crab. This hoppin’ West Village crab shack is about as cramped as a can of jumbo lump meat, but the beer-fueled crowd spilling out onto Hudson street doesn’t seem to mind. Chef Zak Pelacchio combines the flavors of Malaysian – while borrowing inspiration from the rest Southeast Asia – to create some of best Asian-inspired street food this side of Singapore. I couldn’t resist the soft shell crab in green curry… it was hot as hell and just a delicious.

The next morning – with my tongue still burning and the temperature on the rise – I made my way to Madison Square Park to soak up some sun. And whenever I’m in Gramercy, I always make a point to stop by favorite bahn-mi shop, Baoguette. This tiny sandwhich shop specializes in the Vietnamese sub of pork, cilantro, pickled veggies, pate, cheese and jalapenos. Served on a crispy French baguette, these little guys offer up sweet, savory and tangy all in one bite and make for the perfect lunch on the go. Moving on from Vietnam, the night’s dinner brought me to the balmy shores of Thailand, by way of Ludlow Street.

Eatpisode is a cozy, candlelit Thai joint right in the thick of the LES, making it a great pregame spot before a night out. I met up with a few friends, six-pack in tow (this place is BYOB) and proceeded to puruse the menu. With five different types of curry, myriads fried rice, Pad Thai, and all sorts of sweet, spicy, savory, and sour appetizers, this is some of the best Thai cookin’ outside of Siam. My taste buds were still jumping from the green curry the night before – I couldn’t resist and went with the green curry chicken. While the coconut milk and lemon grass toned down the heat compared to last night’s crab, the dish still packed a punch… which made that six pack go down all the faster.

With my wallet (and my head) hurting from a night before, I headed to China(town) in search of an affordable lunch. What I found was quite possibly the best meal I’ve ever had for under $5. Tucked below the Manhattan bridge, Xi’An Famous Foods is a tiny noodle counter serving up HUGE flavor. Unlike other restaurants in the area, Xi’An specializes in Western Chinese cuisine, which means you won’t find a grain of rice here. The cuisine of Xi’An is marked by a heavy Middle Eastern influence and lots of spice. My recommendation: the lamb cumin noodles. These made to order noodles are as fresh as they come and a must for anyone who loves spicy food… as is the iced black tea to wash away the heat.

By Sunday night, my stomach was starting to fold under all the heavy noodles and fried rice… something light was in order. While walking off the weekend’s indulgence along Front Street and I literally stumbled into SUteiSHI. The floor-to-ceiling doors of this seaport sushi joint open right onto the sidewalk, making for a very cool, relaxed dining experience… as do the unobstructed views of the Brooklyn Bridge. While the young, overly-friendly staff does a good job of pushing alcohol, edamame, and standard Japanese fare, don’t let that deter you. The chef’s execution is spot on and the use of quality ingredients – like the fatty salmon roll (where meat from the fish’s belly is used to impart a smoother, richer texture) – elevate SUteiSHI beyond any other sushi bar in the area.

So there you have it. A tour of Asia all in one weekend and at a fraction of the price of an actual trip. While I by no means am discouraging those of you willing to travel to the Orient, it’s always nice to know that you get a taste of the exotic in your own backyard.

The opportunity to attend the World Expo 2010 is a once in a lifetime experience for most people. In order to fully understand and appreciate the points of interest and facilities in the expo, it is helpful to take advantage of a tour guide for the World Expo 2010 before you arrive in China. Appreciating your journey more will occur when you plan your itinerary and know what to expect in terms of food, lodging and other amenities.

It is important to remember that there are strict regulations about entering Expo location and about what you may bring into the facility. Do not expect to ignore the rules and get away with it. You may not want to be disappointed by traveling all that distance and then finding out that you missed out of the exhibits and features because you did not plan ahead.

Once you arrive in the country, getting back and forth to the Expo will probably be important to you. If you are like most people, you hate to wait in line for anything. Expected times waiting for traffic congestion to clear in Shanghai will vary according to the time of day you travel. You will probably want to select your lodging so that you avoid traveling through the busiest areas of the city. You can also use Metro, but you should learn which stations are the best choices for less traffic, and pick your lodging location accordingly.

For those who are accustomed to practically unlimited food choices, the restaurant food in the Expo may be a bit confining. By law, unused food at the end of each day must be discarded. This means that restaurants will be less likely to risk over ordering because the food would be wasted. If you purchase within the grounds, make your choices early in the day. You may also pack a lunch or fruit to bring along with you.

As you might expect, some liquids are prohibited on the Expo grounds. Some of the banned liquids may surprise you. For example, bottled water is not allowed. You may bring empty bottles and fill them at one of the many drinking water fountains. Liquid medicines and milk for infant feeding are allowed.

No promotional materials of any type are allowed on the grounds. The message on your T-shirt may not be acceptable, so do not wear it if there is any question about what might be appropriate. Leaflets, banners, flyers and similar items are not allowed.

Obviously no weapons belong inside the gates. The determination of what constitutes a weapon may surprise you. For example, a long-handled umbrella is banned.

These are just a few of the helpful tips you can glean from the tour guide for the World Expo 2010 Guide in China. You will have information about the bargains on flights. You can also determine the type of documentation and medical inoculations that you will need. There is information about tours, food, lodging and all the other things that go along with traveling in another country and culture.
