Taba Heights – Introducing This Brilliant Golf Resort
Set in the North East of the Sinai, Taba Heights is a self contained resort centered near an 18 hole PGA standard golf course. It’s position on the foothills of the mountains affords breathtaking views over the Gulf of Aqaba to Jordan and Saudi Arabia just 6 miles away. The location combined with the fact it doesn’t get crowded makes Taba Heights among the most wonderful places in Egypt.
With over 3 miles of natural beaches there are many secluded spots that offer outstanding snorkeling opportunities. Dive boats run from the international marina every day and there are a variety of shops and places to eat in the area next to the El Wekala called the Uptown. Once a week in Uptown, there is a street festival where guests and residents get together for an evening of entertainment. For anyone residing in the hotels along the sea front, complimentary buses operate taking people round the resort.
A number of hotels are positioned round the golf course making this a fantastic desert setting. The 5* hotels are positioned alongside the beach and higher up the hills at the highest point of Taba Heights is the 4* El Wekala Golf Resort. It is an all-inclusive hotel which features its own area of beach featuring a bar and swimming pool. There’s also a Dine Around Privilege making it possible for visitors to sample the dining at various restaurants on the other hotels in Taba Heights.
The holiday resort is a superb base to look around the surrounding area in addition to tours to Eilat and Jerusalem in Israel and the breathtaking Petra in Jordan. For all those unwilling to travel too far, St Catherines Monastery is a renowned trip which is often put together with a trip to the relaxed resort of Dahab.
For anyone hoping to discover the coral reefs, there are options for scuba divers and snorkelers as well. Farun Island (or Pharoahs Island) is a common location for boats with both snorkelers and divers. It has an old fort on the island constructed by the Saracen Salahdin in the time of the Crusades. The trips all leave from the marina and for scuba divers, there are many great sites ideal for all abilities of scuba diver giving a stupendous range of marinelife. For the moment, Taba Heights remains a somewhat unknown jewel in the Sinai although with so much to offer tourists it’s getting increasingly sought after.
