Finding Affordable Laptop Batteries
If you own a laptop then there is a good chance that you have experienced the dread of being on the road and in the middle of something when your battery starts to die. I have lost count of how many times I have experienced this, only to go through the stressful process of contacting the manufacturer in an attempt at ordering a replacement for an astronomical price.
This problem has frustrated me so much that I have been motivated to find a simpler solution and share it with everyone. Regardless of your situation, if you are a laptop owner like me then sooner or later you have had to power it on the adapter cord alone, or bite the bullet and purchase a battery for well in excess of what you originally plan on buying it for.
Fortunately, there are other options available out there for efficient (a.k.a. “cheap”) yet effective batteries. These other options include but are not limited to the many big box stores and internet sources. But in my experience, I have found that “Amazon” provided me with the best results every time.
Initially, when I didn’t know any better I would just contact the various manufactures directly and receive frustrating voice mail options, difficulty describing part numbers to the sales agent, and high shipping costs. Although the replacement battery was available in each instance. Obtaining it conveniently was not.
In addition, I had nothing short of search engines to investigate the overall customer experience for each manufacturer I needed to make a purchase from.
If you are reading this, there is a good chance that you already know how to buy items on “”Amazon.” What most people are not aware of though, is the amount and variety of computer parts and accessories that are available there as well. From power adapter cords, to display panels and keyboards. The options are vast and the selection process is easy. Just search for the series and battery of your laptop (for example HP DV6000 Battery) and review the results.
In my opinion, the best bet is to search for your battery by specific model number, even if you choose another source, your exact model number is very important… Once I find a vendor that I am confident in with good feedback, I tend to buy and recommend purchases from them all the time.
Most vendors have a list of specific models their batteries are compatible with. You will also notice warranties on some items as well. If you are searching for a battery I can’t recommend this way of beating the battery price wars any stronger. The chances of finding a quality bargain at a cost that will amaze you will increase substantially.
