An Introduction to Angola
Angola is a country that many people may have heard of but perhaps in recent years for all of the wrong reasons. Involved in a very long, (27 year) civil war, this is a country that is only starting to rebuild itself both in terms of civility but also in industry – something easily overcome by increasing oil prices that came about when this country was known to be one of the fastest oil producers making almost two million barrels of oil on a daily basis! This was, of course, less than what the government of the country had wanted to offer the world but in a situation where they were trying to rebuild itself, it certainly was better than nothing!
Of course, since the end of the civil war, Angola has grown massively in so many ways. Investment Angola is heading for an all time high with people investing in many things from oil to crops, diamonds to minerals and much more in between. When you consider this with a booming tourism industry and a beautiful landscape, it is no surprise that people are flocking to Angola in their thousands to claim their little part of a growing country.
When you take a closer look at this country, you will see that although a lot of the food products are still imported from elsewhere, Angola has a lot to offer in return. Products from agriculture range from bananas and sugarcane to fish and cotton with plenty more in between. Tobacco, livestock and even vegetables are all other exports of this fast growing country.
Agriculture is not the only thing that Angola has to offer. Pictures of Angola often include diamonds – this country regularly exports gems including, but not limited to diamonds to the rest of the world. Iron ore can be added to this list as can textiles and even ship repair and that is before you even begin to think about the fact that Angola subsoil’s contain over 30 of the 45 important minerals – huge exports for the rest of the world.
Angola as a country may be out of the red when it comes to war and may definitely be heading in the right direction when it comes to investment Angola and business, there is still a fair way to go. Angola is still in trouble money wise after using up their entire credit lines for many of the countries that lent out and it is known that although economy is booming – there is still a rather long way to go. Despite this, investment Angola is something that a lot of people are currently talking about and with a fast growing tourism industry – it would seem that now is a very good time to think about investing! But if fun is your game, just head south, sit by the beach and take your own pictures of Angola.
