Arena LG KM900 Mobile Phone Review – A sophisticated smartphone, but slow
The LG KM900 Arena has a variety of desirable features. FM radio, 5 megapixel camera, bright and elegant touch screen user interface is looking all attractive attributes. Unfortunately, there are some little quirks that can turn users away.
* Appearance:
When it comes to looks, the LG Arena that really sells a solid white plastic casing, sleek curves and a gorgeous 3-inch TFT 262k color touch screen. The interface is not bad looking either, with an ordered set of icons that are not unlike how the iPhone is created. There is a weak phone, or – and 105 g, it is not too big or too bulky. However, if it decides to carry in your pocket, you can be a good idea to use a screen saver to be on the safe side.
Unfortunately, when it comes to ease of use, Arena is not the best phone on the market. While most of the icons and applications are fairly easy to understand, the touch screen has a noticeable delay that makes navigation and text messaging experience irritating. It is perfectly possible to operate if it moves slowly and carefully, but this leaves many users who want to accelerate the cell to respond appropriately. Besides this, there have been some weird errors that do not necessarily hinder their activities, but create confusion, however, including some truly strange notifications.
Camera:
5 megapixel camera of the Arena is undoubtedly one of the ideal characteristics. Its LED flash is surprisingly powerful enough to take pictures in dark areas and still come out sharp and vivid image. The auto focus and camera key are also beneficial properties. We heard many compliments on the video camera as well. Besides having recording capabilities, it also has a video player and gallery. Film quality is very good, with easy transition from light to dark areas. A second camera allows you to participate in 3G video calls too.
Sound:
Thanks to the Arena Dolby mobile sound system, quality is crisp and clear, with only minimal tinniness. Its music player supports MP3 and AAC. The FM radio is a nice touch too. Also included polyphonic ring tones and MP3.
* Internet connectivity:
tri-band technology, plus HSDPA 2100, is mostly sufficient to keep the phone connected through travel. Combine this with 3G HSDPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPRS and USB, and has a way of keeping in touch wherever you go. Besides this, you get instant messaging, SMS, MMS, WAP and XHTML browser to play, but given the fickle trends of the screen, which is to say if it uses these features will be as attractive as it seems.
* Memory & Talk Time:
With 8 gigabytes, plus 16 additional gigabyte microSD memory card, you must have enough space to store your favorite photos, emails, texts, and films. Unfortunately, its battery life leaves more to be desired, at four hours of talk time and 300 hours standby.
Bottom line:
The KM900 LG Arena is a great camera and a nifty interface when it is not painfully slow. Features such as good looks, fast internet, and sound quality may be sufficient for most users ignore this flaw, however.
