You want to make sure you buy the best hd compact camcorder, but just how can you tell which is best for you?

With the latest ranges of compact camcorders video from pocket sized camcorders has hit a new level. You can now use a camcorder that weighs just a few ounces and will easily slip into your pocket to show full high definition video. But how can you tell which is best for you from a few reviews, lists of technical features and possibly trying it for a few minutes in a store.

Each of the camcorders out there has slightly different features. Some are better for larger fingers because they have large clear buttons. Others are made to be as compact as possible.

Here are the 5 features I decided were essential for me when choosing the camera that was right for me

1. I had a good idea of what I wanted the camera for and how much use it would get. I wanted a camera that I could have with me all the time. It needed to fit easily in my pocket and be fairly tough.
2. I needed a fairly good battery life as I’m always forgetting to recharge my gadgets
3. I needed a camcorder that I could use easily. I just hate reading lengthy manuals before I can use a gadget. I want to take it out of the box, charge it up and start shooting. I also like the features to be fairly intuitive.
4. I needed big clear control buttons. I like my gadgets to be compact but I also need to be able to pick the buttons I need easily.
5. I wanted to be able to connect the camera easily to my computer, and I wanted good clear footage I could upload to facebook.

Once I knew which features I wanted I could start to go through the manufacturers and models that fitted my buy. You will probably find it useful to make a list of your essential features. You probably came up with some ideas while reading my list.

I also wanted to buy a brand that I knew would bring me quality. I don’t tend to have much brand loyalty but I have been stung too many times when buying technology from unknown brands. The big well known brands will be at the cutting edge of development – really important in a market that is developing rapidly. Big brands also have their reputation to think of so they won’t allow poor design to go into production.

Finally I did some checking on price. For me, getting a bargain is about getting a really good buy at a discounted price. So I did check out several online stores.
