Front Load High Efficiency Washers
There are many wonderful perks and drawbacks regarding front load high efficiency washers. Front load washers use forty to sixty percent less water. A top load washer uses on average forty gallons of water. A front loaded washer uses only twenty to twenty-five gallons of water. A normal washer uses thirty to fifty percent less energy. Front loaders use fifty to seventy percent less detergent.
Front Load washing machines have many advantages compared to older models. The machine tumbles the clothes instead of twisting the material back and forth. Due to the different type of motion in the front loader, clothes tend to last longer.
Older washing machines spin clothes approximately six-hundred revolutions per minute. Most front load washers have the capacity to spin one thousand to sixteen hundred revolutions per minute. Due to the speed in which the washer spins, more water is forced from the washer; therefore less energy is used in drying time. In the United Europe more than ninety percent of all washers are front load, as compared to less than five percent in the United States.
One down side of the front load washing machines is that they are so low to the floor, and unless you can fork over an additional two hundred – fifty dollars for a pedestal stand; the machine is one foot max from the bottom of the door to the floor. With a pedestal stand, the bottom of the washer’s door is approximately eighteen inches from the floor. If you have a bad back or other physical problems that impedes bending, you may want to reconsider and buy a top load washer.
Due to the high revolutions per minute, the front loader spins to quickly clothes get twisted together, and that makes it difficult to pull out one article of clothing at a time. Most of the time, clean clothes end up touching the floor because it is one continuous stream of cloth. The weight of the clothes causes it to fall.
There can also be a mildew smell associated with the front loaders. Water gets trapped around the rubber rim, or a small article of clothing gets stuck which causes the odor.
There are many different options when it comes to washers. Due to the cost involved, weight the options carefully.
