Why is the iPad so popular these days? I don’t understand why people are buying so much of them at the Apple store and on Craigslist. Craigslist has been the safe house for acquiring these pieces of technology. I am surprised that the Apple has sold over 300,000 of these iPads in such little time. Apple products in general attract the lust feature of my brain, but when I stand back and anaylise the need for them I stop. Apple has made a product that can be used by teenagers and by middle aged people. But old aged people? Have you seen a grandpa your folks using this tablet. It is Huge! For me this Apple tablet is useless just because of its price. Starting price at 499 without wifi is like a cheap laptop without internet. To buy a top of the line iPad will run you around 799 and that’s the cost of a decent upper line of a laptop. You might as well add a few hundred bucks and buy the ultimate bad ass tablet made by Toshiba, Sony, or HP.

Sure there is much use with this iPad, but what purpose does it serve other than old regular email, watching videos, looking up stocks, and browsing through the list of hundreds of unknown applications. Furthermore if you need a tablet with a stream of wifi just acquire a regular tablet and buy a usb adapter from clear. This will run you cheaper versus wasting money on an iPhone or iPad. Seriously, this whole concept of iPads, iPhones, iPods, has created a generation that likes to watch, observe, rate, comment, all online. What happened to the days when people would actually go outside and have fun? Sadly this old reality is disappearing and new information age is appearing. I hope teens will learn how to survive without a laptop, phone, internet, or even an iPad. Surviving in the wilderness without all this fancy technology is absolutely critical and essential. Just look at how many jobs are out there, nothing! Oregon, California, and Washington are among the worst states hit with unemployment.

Actually Missouri and Minnesota are hovering around 20 percent unemployment according to the state unemployment figures. Anyway, the point I am trying to make is that we take everything for granted and all this technology pulls us farther away from how to survive on our own. iPads in general are ok devices. Its the amount of people being distracted and diverted into having an iPad and would give up anything just to have it. Come on people! Learn how to survive and stop chasing a computer tablet. The reality is you don’t need it, you can live without one.
