Search Redirect Virus – I Keep Getting My Search Engine Links Redirected, What Do I Do?
Parental Control Software for Windows XP is a very important topic for loving parents. There are a variety of Parental Controls to choose from out there. The available software choices range in price from FREE to hundreds and even thousands of dollars. Some Parental controls are easy to install and use and others, well, not so much!
In this article we will review some of the different kinds of parental controls available for Windows XP, ranging in price and ease of use.
It is not easy being a parent in the world today that is for sure. We can ask ourselves; should they be on the computer unsupervised? Are we invading their right to privacy? Better yet, DO they have a right to privacy as long as they are living under our roof and eating the food we have bought, etc…?
Let’s Start with Free:
We can all use something free and if you have kiddos at home you will know that anything that is both useful and free is great to be sure. So, here are 2 free ways that you can help to protect your children at home.
1. For instance; a free way of parental control with Windows XP, that comes available with the default browser of IE or Internet Explorer, is the Parental Control Bar. It is not included, but it is available for free download. (Just search Google) It is supposed to filter out the bad and dangerous websites on your behalf. This is a free software add-on to your browser. (note: This does not work with Firefox as of date.)
2. A second free parental control that works with Windows XP is K-9 Web protection. This software is world renowned and is known for their free monitoring software. This is not shareware, this is FREE.
A couple of parental controls that are not free, you actually have to purchase are listed below as well. Sometimes we do find however that support is usually better when you have to pay for the product which makes complete sense. I will not go into brand names as this is not an advertisement. But I will rather review 2 types of technologies that work well with aiding parental controls over Windows XP in general.
1. Keyloggers- These are also known as Keystroke-loggers. The act of keystroke logging can take place in many types of ways. But, what in this case does Keylogging actually mean? It is the method of recording aka logging, the keys that are depressed on a Windows XP keyboard. This is usually done in a secretive way that keeps the keyboard user unaware and in the dark about being monitored. This text entered onto the computer and/or smart-phone are then usually recorded off to another device or saved on the device with the keyboard itself.
2. Pre-Made PC or laptop- There are Personal computers/laptops with Windows XP that are tailor made to protect Children, since they are designed for children they have built-in security features, time limits, Internet filters, and software packages tailored to young specific ages.
As you can see by what has been demonstrated in the article there are many ways to protect your children online. Ways that are both free and not free. Take your time and do your research and you will find a great fit for you and your child. Good luck!
