Let us start with the head unit. The head unit is like the brain of the whole system, it controls all parts of the car stereo from volume, pitch, bass, etc. It also holds the power button for all parts to function. This also has CD or cassette readers.

The amp is a signal enhancer, it is a one small apparatus attached at the back of the head unit. This apparatus make sounds louder and increases the sound of musical instrument.

The speaker is like the mouth of the system, this is where the sound is released. This transforms electrical signals to sound.

Auxiliary input devices are components of the system such as equalizers and CD changers. Modern features of this part includes more sophisticated electronic gadgets like GPS navigations systems, mp3 players etc. This part interfaces with the head unit for enhancement and processing of the electrical signals.
