It is the sixth planet from the sun.

Saturn is the 2nd largest planet in the Solar System.

Saturn is named after the God of Agriculture and Time.

It is red orange in color.

It is commonly known for its system of planetary rings, that makes it the most visually remarkable object in the solar system.

The northern hemisphere of Saturn is presently a serene blue.

It has an equatorial diameter of 119,300 kilometers or 74,130 miles.

Saturn’s distance from the Sun is 1,426,725,400 kilometers.

Saturn’s mass is 568,510,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 kilograms.

Saturn has 62 moons surrounding it.

Titan is the largest moon in Saturn which is discovered in 1655.

Saturn is also classified as a “gas giant”.

Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter and Neptune are sometimes called “Jovian”, which means “Jupiter-like” planets.

Saturn is made mostly of hydrogen, with small proportions of helium and methane.

It is the only planet that is less dense than water. It is about 30 percent less.

The outer layer of Saturn is primarily composed of hydrogen.

The interior part of Saturn consists of a rocky core, a liquid metallic hydrogen layer and a molecular hydrogen layer.

It has a regular system of satellites, which means the satellites have nearly circular orbits and it lies in the equatorial plane.

It was first visited by NASA’s Pioneer 11 in 1979, and later visited by Voyager 1 and Voyager 2.

It is visibly flattened when viewed through a small telescope.

Its rings are extraordinarily thin. They are 250,000 kilometers or more in diameter but less than one kilometer thick.

Saturn has a significant magnetic field.

Saturn is easily visible during nighttime. It can easily be identified as a planet because it doesn’t twinkle like the stars do.

The average distance of Saturn from the Sun is 1,400,000,000 kilometers or more.

The average orbital speed of Saturn is 9.69 km/s.

To finish one revolution of Saturn around the Sun, it takes 10,759 Earth days or about 29
