Bioclimatic architecture – the environmental problem solution

Bioclimatic architecture is not a new phenomenon, only a cluster of techniques, some well known and other fruits of the latest innovations to be implemented in a joint. Nor is a movement in isolation, we must fit it into more or less broad trends that garner a host of terms like green building, sustainable architecture, sometimes confusing and sometimes unhelpful. To overcome what is not, bioclimatic architecture is not an end in itself, but attempts to solve problems that man has discovered and which are of two types: economic and environmental.

The environmental problem is relatively recent and is born with what are called third generation of social movements, or post-insdustriales movements: pacifism, ecology, anti-globalization, and so on. These movements are increasingly global in nature and are very close to what is also known as third wave of human rights.

The economic problem is due to the dependence of economic systems of oil as an energy source but also as raw material for countless products. The fact that the oil reserves are limited and are in the hands of a few producing countries, some organized around an oligopoly, means that in times of scarcity many economies feel the need to seek energy alternatives. Only then can we understand why the bioclimatic construction was an important moment in the 70’s, during the oil crisis. You just have to be done such as Spirou comic to be impressed with the amalgamation of strips on green cars, efficient homes, etc..

So is green architecture a cyclical phenomenon? Well, yes and no. Yes in the Medici in that its development depends heavily on oil prices, and especially times more scarce. Not to the extent that ecological movements around major lobbies like Greenpeace and other interest groups are becoming more widespread concern for the environment.
